How to set up SPAM protection in your e-mail
1) Log into Missvalley Webmail using your username and password for the e-mail account you wish to set up.

Your username will be the first part of your email (do not type in the @missvalley.com part)
2) The first time you enter Web-Mail, you will be presented
with the options screen, if you are not presented with the options screen,
click
.
You will be presented with the Web-Mail Options screen:

3) Click "Server Spam Settings", you will be presented with the SPAM settings page:

Hold Email: This feature holds all e-mail that is at the rating you choose in a special folder for you. Every 2-3 days you will receive a message from your mail server that will ask you to check your held messages. All held messages stay in the held folder until you either allow them to come through to your e-mail, or you delete them. If you do not check your held messages then the server will delete them for you once every two weeks. The best setting we have found for normal users is 3 for this setting, however some E-Bay notifications may be rated at a 5 or 6 because of the Ads they send with those types of emails. If you are expecting bids from E-Bay sales, or other auction sites, you may want to set this setting higher, or be sure to check your held messages each day to see if they are being held.
Bounce Email: This feature actually returns unwanted e-mails with the rating you choose to the sender without you ever having to see them. Do not set this setting too low or you may bounce legitimate emails accidentally. A good setting would be 6, 7, or 8 to be safe. Remember, your email server rates emails from a 0 to a 12 depending on it's SPAM content. 12 means it's definately SPAM, 0 means it's definately a legitimate email. Ratings inbetween 0 and 12 are e-mails that may or may not look like SPAM to your mail server. The higher the number, the more likely it's a SPAM email. Most SPAM e-mail falls into a category of 3 or above.
Vanish Email: This setting simply deletes incomming emails that are at the rating you choose. Most people do not use this feature, as it deletes the email without notifying you it was received and without notifying the sender it was received by your mail server.
Spam Headers: Put a checkmark in "Add spam indicator headers to the message body" if you wish to see what each of your incomming emails is rated according to your email server. This feature is useful if you wish to see what ratings you have in your email before you set up the above features.
After setting up these settings, be sure to click
so that your settings will be applied to your email account.
4) When you are finished setting up your settings, either click "Inbox" to read your mail in WebMail, or click "Logout" at the top to continue to use Outlook Express as your mail program on your computer. You do not have to use WebMail for SPAM features to work, you simply have to set them up in WebMail. After setting them up, the only mail you will receive in Outlook Express is mail that matches your settings on WebMail.
